Harsh Reality

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

The colour version is quite a decent photo but I learned long ago that the sunlit snow can be useful in B+W photography since the contrasts can be modified to the extreme, as is the case here..For those who are interested in checking out the location, it is clear from the close-up, on the adjacent map, that the seats have been re-sited away from the formal crescent orientation to the randomly spread configuration you see in the photo.

A memorable image - and a great commentary on the seasons of the Yorkshire coast.

Well done, Jim.

Infact, you need to see twice in order to find out if it is SW or colour. GEFÄLLT MIR / LIKE! +++ Jürgen grüßt Dich aus Wiesbaden / Jürgen greets you from Wiesbaden in Germany.

Perhaps I should start by apologising for this late response since many of your comments were a long time ago. Like many other Panoramians, I like to take a break at times. Now, with renewed vigour and more time on my hands, I can resume "normal service". Jim
