I hope these folks don't mind my posting a photo of their beautiful home.
This house sits across the street from McArthur Park in Little Rock. I snapped the photo while attending the 2007 International Tree Climbing Championship that was held at the park.
Trent, looking at the photo of the house on 546 E. 9th St., Little Rock, convinces me this was a Methodist Church owned orphanage during World War II. It looks like the orphanage, my older brother, my older sister, my cousin and I were placed in during the war, about July 1943 until Sept. 1945. Our mother and her sister put us 4 there while our father was in the military invasion of Saipan and abandoned us. Our father's parents gained custody and got us out before Dad returned Dec. 1, 1945. We kids walked to Kramer School on 7th and Sherman St. and played at McArthur Park. We are all in our 70s now.
