Hi Tom,

Yes, this is Fox Glacier as it descends to the west coast from the icefields in the vicinity of Aoraki-Mt Cook, NZ. I loove the alpine country.

Warm greetings from Brisbane (I have been away quite a bit lately)

Hello dear .

As I approached the glaciers from the coast I found the whole experience awe-inspiring! The great volumes of ice, that were descending so steeply, were hard to comprehend. Previously I had been on the alpine peaks and on the icefields at the source of the glacier and that is a very different experience. I guess I came away from both visits stunned and awestruck.

As you realise, the little branch included in this photo was deliberate. It was a way of saying that I felt so small and frail as I looked up at the awesome icefall that appeared to be descending from the clouds! It is 7kms from where I was standing to the point where the glacier emerges from under the cloud in the background. Even now, as I look at the photo, I cannot comprehend that it is sooo big. Majestic and awesome.

Warmest regards,

You certainly encourage me to think creatively, and that generates better images. So thanks again. I look forward now to your coming to Australia, and we will be able to explore much beauty together.

Hello Christos. This is a majestic area, full of grandeur so it means there are many wonderful photos of this area. At this viewpoint, I watched as the descending cloud rolled down the descending glacier. It really was quite dramatic.

Добрый день Ian! Замечательный снимок! Величественная стихия! L8+F2 С дружеским приветом из Украины и наилучшими пожеланиями, Станислав.
