Greetings Billy, The bison are wonderful animals, from inside the snow coach. They travel on the roads because it is easier than plowing snow. When the snow coaches approach the coach slows down to a crawl and moves past the bison very slowly. You get to see the bison very close up. They have beautiful brown eyes. The fur is very thick. They are just beautiful to watch.

Beautiful photos Rich! The bison, lords of prairie and the grand loop road, which representing the civilization that brought them almost to extinction. Very nice your gallery! Greetings from Rome, Bepix

Greetings Pajaba, The park service is studying why the bison use the road to move around the park. Probably because the snow is packed on the road and 4 feet deep and loose off the road..... Glad you like it. Cheers, Rich
