This looks like a really cosy place to retreat after a long hike! Is that gentleman behind the counter the namesake of the premises? Does he serve the original Pilsener Urquell beer, I wonder? An authentic happy hour shot. Cheers, susan

Greetings Susan, You have discovered a treasure along the coast highway in Inverness, California. I certainly hope Vlad is still with us. It would be so much fun to see him once again. He is everyone's friend. One evening he closed the register and had in impromptu wine tasting party for everyone. What a grand time. He has so much interesting history. They could write a short novel about him and his escapades.

Cheers Vladimir.

Cheers,

Rich

Thank you for the interesting information, Rich. I can imagine the pub being very cozy, love the way the walls are filled with old pictures. Is that banknotes pegged over the wine glasses? Greetings, susan

Greetings Susan, You would love this place and this man. We met him over 30 years ago and had such a good time that we have always stopped in anytime we have been on the coast. He carries everything behind the bar. And that is a collection of currency from around the world. In the old mining days, miners would leave a dollar pinned to the wall of the bar. That way, they could always come in for at least one drink if they were broke. He has accordian players who do waltzes and polkas and if you want to dance you just push some tables out of they way. All the women always want to dance with Vladimir.

Cheers,

Rich

If you you look at one of my pics from Ausrtalia, you'll notice that quite a few female tourists seem to leave their bras in lieu of tips.

Greetings A&K, We were back in September, but sadly Vladimir had passed away. We lost a dear friend in that man. He was such a character. The whole family just loved him so. Cheers, Rich
