I'm suddenly freezing!
What a super shot! This is fantastic.
Hope you're enjoying Quebec!
Thanks, MaryAlice and Hank. As you see, Hank, it wasn't quite the weather I'd hoped for! When I took all these, not only was there no sunshine: it was snowing and blowing so hard that I kept my camera under my coat, and only popped it out long enough to take each individual shot! Quebec City's huge festival, Carnaval, was due to have its official opening that night, but it was postponed because of the weather!
A delicate white dream... I like very much this "icy serie". Greetings from Spain.
Very nice picture...Amazing landscape! Greetings from Spain.
Thank you, Pepe, Paul, and eme jota. I had been here once, long ago, in the summer. It's an impressive waterfall then, but much more so with the winter's ice!
Greetings from Canada.
Amazing waterfall shot. This must really be something in nice weather. Regards, Tom
Thanks, Tom. I'd now like to see it in winter sunshine. If my husband goes to the same meeting next year, I think I'll go along and hope for better, though still wintry, weather! Greetings, Marilyn
A very impressive and powerful image, Marilyn! I love the detail of the bridge, and the faint trees in the distance hiding behind the mist.
Thanks for your comments, Ryan. Most people went up onto the bridge, but I'd already climbed enough icy stairs, and visibility would have been very poor because of the storm, and it would have been pretty miserable being exposed to the elements out there on the bridge. So I rationalized that the best views were the ones from the side, like this photo and the "Hot Springs" one. (I spent my extra time taking shots of the path, the rock face with icicles, etc.)
Paul, I may make that my motto! Marilyn
Wonderful waterfall, Marilyn! What a great vantage-point. Hopefully you were behind a fence.... ;-)
Great shot, I'm concerned about your safety Marilyn. I hope you were roped up to a fence and wearing a safety helmet. I would have been.(Call me chicken)...Anita
I assure you, DeEtte and Anita, I'm no dare-devil! I was on a sturdy platform with a strong railing around the edge. There was an ice climber starting up at the far side of the falls, but it makes me shudder to think of it!
