St. James Cathedral - 1853, Tower and spire at 305 ft , which is not CN Tower hight, but quite tall for a church.

St. James Cathedral, the most important Anglican church in Toronto. in 1807 - First wooden "Church at York" was built. It was robbed in 1812 by Americans, and burned twice 1839 & 1949 - Finaly in 1853 - New Cathedral opens for services on original site.

It was designed by Frederick William Cumberland in Gothic Revival architecture style. The St. James tower was designed by William Storm and built in 1865-70. The tower and spire rises 305 feet (93 meters) above the street. It is second tallest in N.A. after St. Patrick in New York.
