What a great shot Marilyn IS it glass or an ice sculpture? Whatever it is it's very pretty.

Marilyn Whiteley on February 6, 2008

Thanks, Palmina. It's an ice sculpture, an entranceway to a restaurant. We went to Quebec city at that time so my husband could attend a meeting, not so we could visit Carnaval, but the ice sculptures were a wonderful bonus of being there right then!

Greetings Marilyn, I hear so much about the winter festival in Quebec and the way the locals adapt to the snow and cold. The ice work here is beautiful. Thanks for sharing. You are so lucky!!

Lovely shot Marilyn!. Great one.

Marilyn Whiteley on February 6, 2008

Thanks, Rich and eme jota. I'd just taken one shot of the church when I walked into this ice entranceway to a restaurant. I was delighted to find a more interesting way to shoot the scene!

Cheers, Marilyn

Hello Marilyn Wonderful shot!! Really good idea. Quebec is such a beautiful city, I did a part of my studies there (Université Laval) and the carnaval is something to see! Thanks for sharing, Sylvie

Marilyn Whiteley on February 6, 2008

It's very good to hear from you, Sylvie! I was delighted to happen upon this scene outside a restaurant on Grande Allee. Quebec is indeed a beautiful city, and a fascinating one. Twice I've been to meetings held at Laval. On time I had absolutely no opportunity to get away from the campus. You can imagine how frustrating that was! The other time, I went to one group dinner at a restaurant in the old town, but that was all. So I was delighted that my husband had this meeting there, and it was a bonus that it happened at the beginning of Carnaval!

Cheers, Marilyn

What a gorgeous shot Marilyn and I'd give my eye teeth to attend that festival (oh the photo opportunities there)! :D

Marilyn Whiteley on February 9, 2008

You'd make such good use of the photo opportunities, Pam, and of course a bit of snow and cold wouldn't faze you! I'd love to see what you'd come up with.
