I believe I took this near Seo de Urgel. But I can't locate it on GE. I'd appreciate any help. Maybe one of the dams has been built since 1978 and has inundated this particular section.
It was taken between Pons (Ponts) and Seo de Urgel.
You re up the air here Ian off of the C-14 ~ what slide number is this shot?
If you can locate this too, I'll be pleased. But this is #37: "Rio Segre. 10kms below Seo De Urgel. Limestone of Pyreneean Foothills."
Nick, the road has changed. I note a major cutting and tunnel. Can't remember how many tunnels there were, but all I recall is some short ones, so maybe we are seeing a new long tunnel here now. I am sure we crossed the river by bridge somewhere here in the C1313 as it was named then, and the road then looped and climbed, but that is a 32 year old memory. Maybe it was just my van that managed to sprout pegasus wings!
I am finding that GE is not as good with side views of steep country as it is with vertical view. One of my Australian mountains that I have just photographed is a tall spire, but the pinnacle is entirely gone from the 3D GE image, only the shadow remains. I am sure that when I am doing a side scan in this valley some of the relief disappears and some remains.
