Southeast of the Great Meteora monasteries between Varlaam and Holy Trinity Monastery is the Rousanou monastery. Going from the village Kastraki our left we see the first monastery, the Monastery of St. Nicholas Anapafsas.

In front of us and on impressive vertical cliff and the stone forest of Meteora is the Monastery Rousanou.

The complex of buildings covering the entire top of the cliff. The visitor from up there can enjoy all the splendor and magic of the unique Meteora landscape.

The monastery was inhabited in 1388 AD. by the monk Benedict and Nicodemus. Historical sources have not yet been established.
