Rainbow over Breivikeidet valley

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

The story: In the afternoon on August 1st 2012 a small but intense thunderstorm passed the city of Tromsø, Northern Norway. A rare event, it is the first in the city in at least 3 years. It passed quickly, but was still looming in the eastern horizon (direction of the photo) with the occasional thunder. Meanwhile, to the west the clouds had broken and rays of sunlight was coming through, creating an intense double rainbow. By the time we got out of the car and walked to the viewpoint the outer bow had faded some, but the reverse order of the colours is still visible.
