Above the Pacific Coast

Fog rolls in at remarkable speed over the Northern California coastal foothills as the sun sparkles its last few rays of light dancing atop the Pacific Fog. One moment fog would blow in completely blocking the view and the next magical moment the sky would clear and the sunset would burst though illuminating the grass, trees and especially the top of the fog layer. It was one of those magical moments where there is just too much to take in at any given moment.

It was a foggy dreary day in San Francisco and much of the Bay Area so we decided to head up to the highest peaks in the Bay Area and it was magical. The fog was incredible and moving at a very rapid pace. I was tempted to shoot video on the D800e but opted for full frame 36.3 Megapixel landscapes.

The breeze was cool but not cold and each moment was better than the next. My only regret is that you cannot stay past sunset and the fog would have illuminated well under the moon tonight. The San Francisco Bay Area is such as stunning place with a wide variety stunning landscapes.
