unfortunately I didn't go inside. There is something about this church that catches the eye, but it elludes me. It certainly wasn't built to impress by sheer size as many were.

this is indeed the church where 500 of Monmouth's soldiers were imprisoned after the battle of Sedgemoor.
My parents were married in this church in June of 1944. My Dad was a U.S. soldier and Mom was from Taunton, but worked in Bridgewater. I visited relatives in 2007 and was able to visit the church and thought that it was very unique.
Beautiful! My 4x greatgrandfather was vicar here, two hundred years ago! I look forward to visiting someday.
