I found this flower shily looking out of the snow on the 2. of February at 900 m above sealevel. We actually have two different climates at this heights in the hills and mountains. The slopes looking North often keep their winter dress until May, whereas the slopes looking South start spring earlier than in the lower regions. The angle they have towards the incidence of the sunbeams, produces a very mild climate. That's also the reason, why the vines grow in higher located regions and produce the best wine, see the vines of Ollon for example.
