This is the Archibald Fountain, built in 1932 it is the work of Francois Sicard. The fountain was a gift to the city in a bequest from John Feltham Archibald a co-founder of the Bulletin Magazine. The fountain was named for him by the city as was the Archibald Prize an art prize awarded annually for portraiture which was also a bequest and was named for him by the prize committee. Wikapedia has a very good piece on it. Great photo!
