Life is good when you have a view like this.
Nice one Conrad! Must be having a great summer cruisin'!
The name of the 'Desolation Provincial Park' seems to speak another language, Norrel.
Yes, life is pretty good here on the water this summer! Another few weeks of cruising before heading back to Calgary and the prospect of another....winter.
Desolation Sound was named by Captain Vancouver when he was through the area a long time ago. Probably in a bad mood for some reason.
Captain Vancouver's real name was Captain Van Coevorden. He was Dutch, so he was probably homesick this far from home.
LOL! Between the two of you history is rewriting itself.
Hmm...back in mid August I sent a very witty response to Norrel's comment, but I see it didn't make the journey.
As I recall, I was making the point that George Vancouver was born & raised in England after his family immigrated. So he was either homesick for either Yorkshire pudding or windmills.
I was wrong about that, Conrad, I skipped the Yorkshire part of history.
Of course you weren't wrong Norrel! You just left the unimportant stuff out!!!
Just a feeble attempt to remove the pudding from British history.
