View south from Mt Evans, Colorado, USA

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

This view is from just below the summit of Mt Evans (elevation: 4347M or 14264 ft) looking south. This is the highest on land that I have been. Mt Evans is referred to as one of the fourteeners (mountains with summits above 14000 ft). There are 54 such summits in Colorado, this being the closest fourteener to Denver.

And the ascent can be done, in summer, by road!

It is a marvellous world of opportunity that we live in Berend!! You go from the NL to Kenya, India and Australia... and I can travel the continents too, and then it gets better still for we can share with each other via internet! Thanks Panoramio, KLM and QANTAS. And now I think I will let Curiosity get the better of me and have a look at some images from Mars!
