Ruby town site

Ruby was in 1886 the largest town in Okanogan County and for a brief time was the county seat. The town owed its size and prosperity to rich nearby silver mines. Unfortunately the price of silver dropped making Ruby no longer a viable community. Except for a few stone building foundations, this sign is the only indication the town ever existed.
