My tribute to Usain Bolt and Michael Phelps

Bata Shoe Museum, had this colourful display in May, 2012 in anticipation of the dominance by these two supermen.

They may wrap them self in a national flag at the Olympics, but their achievements are very individual and borderless.

In May, the Bata Shoe Museum on Bloor Street, opened the exhibition Roger Vivier: Process to Perfection. The display above, was created for that show. Roger Vivier was renowned for the bejewelled and elegantly sculptural shoes that he created and many of 'his innovations', such as the needle heel and the pilgrim buckle.

Nobody mentioned in the exhibit how much damage, suffering and pain he caused to thousands of women feet. A woman, who never said: My feet are killing me, is a rarity, I have never encountered!
