Thank you--you see I kept on trying for awhile. Very conventional piece, but the execution is interesting, I think. Novel not to have a sign anywhere puffing the sculptor . . . .

That's odd. Our state loves to puff itself, so it's unusual for it to pass up the opportunity to puff the creator of a sculpture.

Perhaps they were trying to avoid the "Mrs. Dalloway Syndrome," where the art lover looks only for the artist's name to decide whether to be impressed by the work. But I just thought perhaps it was yet another sign of neglect (or abuse) of the fine arts by the state. As you know I am predisposed . . . .
