The Great Meadow. From 1933 to 1979, Mortimer L. Schiff Scout Reservation in Mendham, New Jersey served as the Boy Scouts of America's (BSA) National Training Center and hosted the first Wood Badge courses held in the United States. After the BSA moved it's home office to Texas and the National Training Center to New Mexico, an effort was made to save land of the former Schiff Scout Reservation which resulted in Schiff Nature Preserve.
