*First Christian Church of Grapeland*

The "First Christian Church" of Grapeland, Texas was established around 1870 about three miles to the East in the community of Red House, where an old Indian Village once stood. With the comming of the railroad the town of Grapeland was founded in 1872, and the church moved to town. In 1895 the Present Sanctuary was built, and in 1947 a kitchen and dinning room was added to the original structure.

Never have, my grandma and grandpa Scoggin had their funeral in the Baptist church in town there. Only one I've been inside in Grapeland.
