Great photo Adam. Those were diesel MUs. Never seen them an action but a friend of mine told me those were VERY loud.

I rode in them before the Cape May Sea Shore Lines fell apart, as for the regular passenger excursions. I know that they are trying to get things back together, but with the recent theft. It was a set back, especially to a short line railroad just trying to get by.

As for the loudness I would agree, they had a PA system on board for the conductor narrating points of interest along the line. In order to hear what he was saying, they had to turn the PA system to the loudest setting... Out of all the old rail locos and/or cars I love the BUDD RDCs the best, they are my favorite rail vehicle.. I know out west and up in Canada, some RR's still do operate the old RDC vehicles as a part of regular revenue service.
