The Old Town

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

The old town, as seen from my bedroom window..It is a truly remarkable view and one that I shall never tire of!----Photography, as a hobby, has grown on me since realising the potential of modern digital cameras!---I have dabbled with 35mm SLR film cameras in the past but gave it up due to the prohibitive cost of processing. Since becoming mildly computer literate, digital processing has opened a whole new world for me and this technology has allowed me to build up my confidence to take photos. Panoramio has been the perfect conduit to share my snapshots and has given me the opportunity to join and participate in the family that is Panoramio..and for that I am truly thankful!

Pleasant to live there, Jim, with this view above the sea... and the ships ... and the seagulls ... and the sunbreaks and sunsets and stormy moods.

Thank you for your nice gallery, sincerely Rosie , Austria

It is my pleasure entirely Rosie, thank you for taking so much time, at the expense of your 'Bushes', to view my humble offerings.

Your wonderful compliments and kind appraisals are very much appreciated.

Best wishes Rosie

Your home is Paradise! Your talent as a photographer matches your incredible surroundings!

The light in your photography- all that I have seen- just knocks me out, Mr Jim.

I am not sure what the scientific meaning of 'rarified light' is, or even if it is a real phenom. But I must say, this is an example of what MY MIND considers RARIFIED LIGHT. Does that make sense?

Jim Evans (AXOTA) on November 1, 2009

Jacquie Bockius~~~~yes. its true, some people would say it was paradise..At this very moment, the wind is howling, the roof tiles are lifting, monsoon like rain is pattering against the windows and paradise is the last thing in my mind!!

Paradise is a white sandy shore on a south seas island, gently lapping surf and palms right down to the beach with a nubile young maiden plying me with refreshing drinks, sea food and salad!! pandering to my every whim!! Well!! I can dream a little, cant I? ;>)

I'd go for rarefied~~~~~~~~>adj. esoteric; elite; meant only for the initiated or the select few; very refined; of or pertaining to a select group; exalted, elated, euphoric, in high spirits; of extremely high quality in character or style (Literature); having low density, of lower pressure than usual

Many thanks for your visit and thoughtful comments Jacquie

Kind regards

Jacquie Bockius on November 18, 2009

Gracias Jim! Yes rarefied indeed then! And as far as paradise goes, even in Polynesia they have their monsoon season, don't they?

I have just uploaded my own pictures of California on Panaramio, I feel inspired! La la la la........
