Yellow Wasp (pictured above) are not seen in Texas as often as their cousins the Red Wasp and the Black Tailed Red Wasp, all of which are members of the Paper Wasp Family. They are sometimes mistaken for Yellow Jackets, but the Yellow Jackets are smaller, usualy build their nest in the ground, and are very agressive. None of the above should be messed with in mid summer, because the hotter it gets, the meaner they become. {Sort of like people.} ;-)
