Church is enough unique sample of wooden churches in nearest area and this shape and colours was not changed over past 100-200 years if compared to old photographies and drawings.

Built in 1684 for Evangelic Lutherans confesion, but after marriage of son of noble George Cristopher Lieven with family from Poland noble family of Lievens changed religion to Catholics and this church also changed confession to Roman catholic. Change of belief is enough interesting case, along with whole noble family Lievens genealogic history

Most known from noble family was countess Dorothea Lieven, first HSH Princess. She was first in Europe who introduced Waltz in England/London and she was person entitled His Serene Highness. In novadays this style used by the ruling families of Monaco and Liechtenstein.

Well, thank You for repeated visit! I just pointed You with this sample, because participation in P-mio gives me a lot fun. Every day, every week I learn something new about places where I living and passed by.

I wished, I have more free time and can follow other users portfolios, but current period in my life is with lot of personal stress and I need dedicate my time for my family too, not only for P-mio. Now I looking forwards for Easter holidays, then will be more non-working days in a row! ;) Cheers, Ainars
