Tumbling Maple Leaves barn quilt

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

This continues the series of Door County barn quilts I began last year, in 2011. Many quilts have been added, and also we did not get down to the southern part of the county last year. To see all the Door County quilts so far plus one from the county immediately to the south, please click on my barn quilt link.

Wow, you went for them, Marilyn? There are so much. Did you have a nice Summer time? Cheers, Dany

Hi, Dany. Thanks for your prompt comment. It's good to hear from you.

I've had a good summer but a busy one. I was asked by the local historical society to present a program about cherry orchards in this area, focusing on the one my grandparents had for 30 years beginning in 1927. I did lots of research and had fun doing it. Then I decided that I should write down some of this for my nine cousins, the oldest of whom is nine years younger than I, so they're not so familiar with the history. I have that almost finished now, so this past Saturday my husband and I took a holiday, and went out with a map hunting barn quilts. It was lots of fun!

Hope all is well with you. Cheers, Marilyn

Very interesting, the thing with the cherry orchards, Marilyn. I've never seen one, only single tree. Will it be possible to read it, in the future? I'm sure it was fun, hunting barn quilts ;-) All is well here, we had a very hot Summer, but now it's better. Next I will move to Domodossola, going living with my father. I will let you know. Cheers, Dany
