Espada Dam on the Mission Trail San Antonio, TX. Built under the direction of the Spanish Missionaries. It is the oldest continuously used Spanish built diversion dam in Texas. Built about 1745 to supply water to the farms and fields of Mission San Francisco De La Espada. One of the few reverse buttress or convex dams in the US. Almost all other dams are buttress (concave) or straight line.
