Wave Deck, at the foot of Simcoe Street, Toronto Harbourfront 2009
There are three similar pedestrian bridges (the others are at Rees St. and Spadina Ave.) designed by Dutch Architects of West 8 Urban Design, to look like waves, incorporating some great design into the neighbourhood. The kids love them, the adults are not using them much more then lunch benches or place to nap. (as on this photo)
This one is about 60 meters long, 11 m wide.
In the evening, the deck is lit from below with colourful LED fixtures mounted to the structure.
This photo was taken in June 2011. It is not B&W, the cedar wood just get this colour and with high contrast and setting sun the colours are almost gone.
