I promise you, I live 300 meters from it and cycle past it every working day, it really is called "Duivenbree". The Youth Hostels were renamed "Stayokay" some years ago. Not that it matters much, of course.
you are right the street is called Duivenbree, in 1992 the building was stiil called njhc herberg Doevenbree, and now they call it 'stayokay nijverdal'. what's in a name?
it IS Duivenbree, and I can know this because I was born in villa Duivenbree, after which the Nijverdal Youth Hostel was later named....
As far as I know my birthplace (1949) DUIVENBREE is still there, down the road from Stayokay Nijverdal!
thanks for your comment.
in the good old days when jeugdherbergen were still called jeugdherbergen, I visited this youth hostel twice. in 1992 and in 1993. during both my visits its name was doevenbree.
the word doeven is dutch low saxon for pigeons, by the way.
