Coffee Mill - Leinbrock Werke Ideal - circa 1960

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

I brought this coffee grinder from Vienna in 1978. Somehow the coffee tasted better, after I made an effort to grind it my self....

I used it a lot, but not lately.

LEINBROCK, in Gottleuba (Sachsen) Germany, made a lots of coffee griders. This one is probably not rare (1955-60?)- it sells on ebay for $49.99. I paid about $10.

This photo was in NPC competition Sept 2012, Mills -6 votes, rank 31.

I usually do not stage photos, but there is not water mill or wind mill in my neck of woods. This is probably the only Coffee grinder selected for G.E.!!!

Viktore, Not sure how much I paid for it. I think less then 100 Schillings. It was not expensive. It was cheaper then electric one.

You are sure right coffee really tastes better if the beans are freshly grind. I have a full automatic coffee machine... first the beans are grind than they the coffee get's compressed and one or two delicious cups are made.....

We had such a hand grinder when I was young. I always love to grind the beans especially for the smell.

Best wishes, Erik

Very nice composition - great idea for the theme "mills" if you haven't another mill in your neighbourhood! ;-DD Like

I've also an old coffee mill but I don't use it exept for decoration - it's from my great-granny and really old! I love such old things!

Greetings, Dida

Dida, Because this mill is in my family only 30 years, it needs to be used to get the right patina.

My daughter loved it as a child, so if she ever returns to Canada (she is in Bonn now) she would probably want it in her household!
