Native to South America, the purple-Ipe is found and used from northern Amazonia to northern Argentina. It is characterized by a large tree that can reach 35 meters in height. Its leaves typically fall during the dry season, when their flowers in shades of purple burst into a beauty unsurpassed. The purple-Ipe has a great anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, antitumor and analgesic. This way may be indicated for muscle pain, arthritis and osteoarthritis, tumors and some types of cancer and psoriasis.
