Thanks, Derek. If you think that looks like a Harley Davidson engine you wouldn't be far wrong. In fact, though, it's an S. & S. engine made by a small specialist company in Wisconsin, USA. They do supply high-performance V-twin engines to HD though. The angle of the push-rods is apparently 56 degrees, making them known as 'X - engines', whereas HD engines are only 45 degrees. (I'm no engineer, so don't take this as gospel. Got this from browsing Internet).
