Good morning Gerry! This is an excellent composition. I like the colourful fronts of the buildings reflecting in the river. The lighting is also very beautiful There seems to be a thin layer of ice on the water, so I guess it must be rather cold just like here. But that's ok as long as the sun keeps shining...Greetings, Anne

Thanks Anne. Not ice, just a slight ripple on the water. Thanks for sending some of that nice hazy continental weather over this way ;-)

This shot was taken from the remains of the old bridge. Some shots pre 1900 are available on the website of the National Library of Ireland. Type in New Ross in the "Subject Alphabetical" search box.

Wonderful Place, New Ross. My Great Grandfather,HUGH COCHRAN and Grandfather SAMUEL COCHRAN lived in New Ross, both were watch and clock makers. My Great Grandfather was commissioned to make the Town Hall (The Tholsel) clock which is still there and working. My Grandfather Samuel served his apprentiship with JOHN FEGAN watch & Clock makers. Then moved to Dublin where he worked for JOHN MORTON jewelers of Nassua street, Dublin for about 50 years. Does anyone remember any of the COCHRAN'S or have any of their clocks or watches? disce50@clara.co.uk

I know! I went to school there! Thanks for the comment Ali!

Sorry Heppy - no memories of the Cochrans, but then we were confined mostly to the school!

Do you use a compact camera or an SLR?

Always a compact, otherwise I wouldn't bring it with me! This shot was taken with this camera
