Tonight the QEII departed Sydney, Alan. And yesterday the QEII and the Queen Mary were in the harbour together, one coming the other going, saluting each other. And what a crowd turned out around the shores of the harbour on a spectacular Sydney day to witness it all.
For a Sydneysider, this was a timely upload, Alan. Thanks.
The seventh GETTY IMAGE of the Queen Victoria being manourvered into Sydney Cove (Circular Quay) is such a remarkable contrast with image I have in my mind of the First Fleet of 11 vessels taking up their positions on Jan 26, 1788 in the same place!
I am glad that Australia's British connections have not been overlooked by the media. It was quite a weekend, but no I didn't go in to see them.
