Situated on Clarence Esplanade this consists of an anchor from HMS Victory on a stone plinth with a wooden cross piece. It is incribed "Victory's Anchor 21st October 1805". This anchor was situated close to the point at which Nelson departed these shores on 14th September 1805 for the last time before being killed on 21st October 1805 at the victorious Battle of Trafalgar.
