HMS Victory is a 104-gun first-rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy laid down in 1759 and launched in 1765. She is most famous as lord Nelson's flagship at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805 where of course he lost his life. See other Panoramio pics of Victory for the full story. She was moved to dry dock at Portsmouth in 1922 to be preserved as a museum ship and is still the flagship of the Second Sea Lord although should he want to go for a spin he may have a few problems!!!
