Wonderfull tile decorated office building built in 1904 in Art Nouveau style and a National Historic Monument near Arnhem Central Station

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

It was designed by the Arnhem Architect W. Diehl:(1876-1959). It was an architect who designed a lot of houses in this so called "Transvaal district"(from South Africa). The house left of this white shop and 2 houses upstairs is also from his hand. He designed also the "Vesta-building"(1939) at the other side of the railway. For a more detailed shot of the tiletableau above the entrance door see: http://www.panoramio.com/photo/84639056 at the left undercorner. It symbolises the progression of the firm anno 1900

Thanks a lot Roger. Its is lovely that you have an eye for such details. The tableau was designed to show the worldwide growing ambitions of the firm that made this building to her main office. I presented the tableau as well at my picture http://www.panoramio.com/photo/84639056
