Being of Laconia, is the Library here loaded with small books or authors who have a reputation for Spartan phrases?
Ooooooo...... listen to you all literate and everything Mike
I had to look that lot up to see what ya meant!
(You see how illiterate I am).
Its a great public library building though int it?
Cheers - Jethro
With the advent of e:readers becoming much more prevalent, it makes me wonder if libraries can still be sustainable or even viable. My local library is under threat of closure regrettably. Custom House Library was a philanthropic gift from a certain Andrew Carnegie, the self same guy who was behind the world famous Carnegie Hall, New York. The reason the library is under threat of closure is not through the demise of books, but lack of funds from the local authority. Loverly pic Jethro.
I'm a member of these guys Peter and have more than enough reading materials to last me a life time (or two).
A major book store chain mentioned to me that they were selling ereaders on my way out (by way of the til of course), and I commented that this surely was like a vegetarian food store selling beef!
They thought about it for a while by which time I had left.... in disgust!
Must be an age thing - Jethro
Perhaps it took a little while for the penny to drop.
I think you're right......
