You have captured this perfectly
When I got home and downloaded to the computer I was really chuffed to bits with this one. It is totally unedited and I am beginning to warm to my £28 Pentax Optio 50.
Lovely shot of Grasmere Skida. I think Helm Crag is the fell to the left and Seat Sandal the bulkier fell to the right. Great composition.
Thanks Pete. After watching "Wainwright's Walks" on TV recently I was able to identify Helm Crag but wasn't sure about the other one.
Thanks for the G*, Wendy. I looked at you wonderful gallery and I added you to my favourites.
Keith, your shots of Grasmere are amazing and even Heaton Cooper would have approved of them !
Your pic. is so peaceful. Barry
Beautiful shot Keith. We have just been to Grasmere this weekend, and I thought to myself, "Who is likely to have photos taken in the area?" I was correct! Painterly quality.
pinehilluk: I apologise for my tardiness in replying to your comment. Thanks for the compliment.
Amelia: Thanks. This day was extremely cold, but also totally calm, so the mirror-smoothness of the lake and the damp in the air was a dream. I hope you enjoyed the trip to Grasmere.
It's a great view.
And, September page of "This Eangland's Country Calendar 2014" also has adopted the same composition this.
Many thanks Stokesia. After taking this shot, I found someone on Flickr had taken one from the same viewpoint, but on a sunny summer day, so it must be popular.
