Thanks MaryAlice. It is Britain's best road for motorcycling. 44 miles of bliss!

This is what dreams are made of Keith it's in the blood, the brain, the soul of bikers. All those who have ever ridden their machines along this route know the feeling, the smells of varied country-side, the range of temperatures, surfaces and air density; as they pass this way-wheter East or West bound. I recall the time I took my first car over there in fog, out of this world!I recall the time I rode on my Honda CB350 that was a thrill! the first time on a bike, after doing the run on a scooter, I then knew the difference between like and Love it was so obvious!
Thanks Mate, for this wonderful reminder of my earlier days, as I sit here, I am on the 686 heading up to Hartside for lunch!, then a run down to Melmerby to stock up on bread buns, get a cuppa, before going through Langwathby, over the bridge-to Penrith, A6 to Carlisle, see me Mam, then along 69 to Greenhead, Military road-home to Grainger Park Rd....ahhh, what a nice run/dream
Mike

Hopefully this will be our last spell of bad weather before the milder temperatures arrive, Mike. I feel a need to do the "circuit" on the bike.

Thanks John (for the comment and not the weather you intend sending us). I have indeed scraped the pegs on this bend, whereas my mate Tony has scraped the tank as he forgot to keep the power on as he went round resulting in him tipping over.
