What an absolutely DREAMY place! I can see why you titled it as you did. I couldn't agree with you more.
It is a beautiful shot! 'Just Beautiful!
Greetings from Georgia,
Thanks MaryAlice. I think we have the same eye for beauty: I love your photos of old buildings.
Greetings from Northeast England, Keith.
You know, just that fantastic rock wall alone speaks volumes! I could run and never tire if I lived in a place like this! I hope the people that live there realize just how lucky they are. It's doubtful though. Funny how we get used to what we have and don't even appreciate it. I try to remember that when I think I'm less fortunate! I have so much for which to be thankful, though it never hurts to dream!
Once again, you have captured a most wonderful place! It's a perfect photo!
Charming portrait of a perfect life in the British lovely countryside ;)
Thanks Crystal. I love this area and that looks like a perfect house.
I guess I will never be able to buy it. I have done some research and found out it used to be the house of William Wordsworth and is now owned by the National Trust. It is called Allan Bank
What a beautiful photo and a wonderful place! It's even overlooking the lake on the other side as the site of the link shows. Next time, I am in the Lake District, I'll know where to go, a pity, that it's not open to the public.
Many greetings, May
Thanks May. Grasmere village is very small and pretty but is overflowing with tourists in the summer and at weekends. Wordsworth also lived at Dove Cottage on the edge of the village and that is open to the public and has a Wordsworth museum opposite. The walk around the lakes takes an hour and a half at a leisurely photographer's pace and is well worth it for the views.
Keith, I think it's a special phenomena in the UK and in Ireland. On weekends it's very hard to find a B&B as a single person, because all the families and couples from the big cities seem to go out for the weekend and I don't like to make plans, where to stay for the night, but rather go along and stay spontaneously in places I discover and like. In Cumbria I had to go up near Cockermouth to find something - and I was happy about it, because I found a very nice place at a farm with some lovely persons. :-)
May, we visited again on Sunday and although the weather was quite dull with showers, Grasmere and Ambleside were very busy. I have uploaded a few new photos.
Thank you Keith for telling!
Hi Keith, reckon we're going to be neighbours. I'll send you an invitation to my first barbeque when I buy that cottage on the side of Loughrigg Tarn (soon as I win the lottery)!
Keep up the good work,
Thanks Dave. I have quite a few of the Lake District (check the tag in the list -> ) I look forward to seeing your collection grow and I shall keep my eye on your gallery.
