... Skida, the only thing missing is the beach! Love your Lake District shots but my personal favorites are the beach ones. As soon as I win the Lottery (need to start playing first) I'll move to the coast, no matter where! ;-)
If I win the lottery I will have a house by the beach too! (Maybe not on the North Sea!)
Thanks for visiting, Inge.
Nice one Keith A great place to live if you can ever afford a house there. Truly is a great part of the world.
I love the Lakes and try to get there 2 or 3 times a year. Thanks for your comments.
Skida, you make me feel bad. I had a house near the Lake District and gave it all up!!
However, much more interesting is the light and contrast. I had my negatives of my photos from that era scanned and the are posted in Panoramio. The colors are much flatter and subtler and I was sure it was the contrast reduction of the negatives.
But your digital photographs are the same gorgeous shades and contrast flatness. I love them!!!!
...... and I am home sick.
The weather had a lot to do with it. In the morning there had been freezing fog. When the sun came out it lifted but there was still a lot of moisture it the air and you can see the mountains disappearing in it. I always thought the Lakeland mountains had a velvety quality and maybe that adds to the subtleness you refer to. Thanks for visiting.
How about a house like that, the beach around the corner (maybe Indian Ocean or Pacific) and an average temperature of, let's say, 20°+, all year round?
Maybe it's just as well that dreams don't always come true... Or one realizes that dreams are better kept as dreams...
I am looking for that place!
25 deg C, permanent wind (for sailing maybe), mountains, beaches, it must or at least should exist somewhere!
Maybe I lack ambition: I'd be happy with the Med, somewhere near Barcelona.
