Oh my goodness.... this is FABULOUS! I love it! Look at the cool green moss covering the rocks. It is old and beautiful. I have never seen such. I sheer delight! I love this. Thanks so much for showing me. Great job!

I thought you would like it and that's why I took the shot. I don't know if it is still in use or when it was built. There are so many of these all over the lake district and because of the materials and the dry stone (no mortar) technique they all look old. This one obviously isn't a recent construction though. I will be out and about next week and I know where there are some cracking abandoned buildings. Watch this space!

The thing I remember most about Grasmere is the beautiful smell of the perfume factory. Do you know if it is still there?

I didn't notice a perfumery, but they still have the famous ginger bread bakery and shop.
