Looks like a geography field trip, to me, George???
And sticking my neck out a bit to far: looks like some pretty big morainic hills to me.
Tell me the correct answers, George, please.
Ian

It was a 'geography club' weekend trip, camping, hiking and generally having fun...notice the rugby jersey! The Beaver Valley is a re-entrant, a pre-glacial valley in the escarpment, widened and deepened by at least four ice ages. You're right about the moraines...part of the 'horseshoe moraines that surround the Great Lakes. The group is on a shelf of dolostone part way down the valley side. Tbe cap of the escarpment can be seen here at Eugenia Falls. Thanks for the visit, Ian.
