WYTHENSHAWE HALL This half-timbered Tudor house was the home of the Tatton family who lived there between 1540 and 1926. It was built around 1540 by Robert Tatton from Chester. During the English Civil War, the Hall was unsuccessfully defended by Robert Tatton against Cromwell's forces. It houses a museum, which is open to the public in season, and the larger rooms can be hired for weddings, parties, conventions, etc.
