This lake is famous for its purple color. It is in a remote alpine area within the Stein Valley wilderness couple of 100kms north of Vancouver. I and my hiking friends trekked two full days to reach it (and returned on the third day).
A beautiful photo. I can imagine how glorious it would feel to stand in this place!
I was there in 1991 and the color of Tundra Lake has to be seen to be believed. It's one of the most amazing shades of bluish purple I have ever seen and is well worth the hike in from Lizzie Lake to see. It would be a long day just to get in to the lake.
