Face-On Study (Enlarge to Maximum, Please to Read This Face!)

This face is one I know oh-so-well... he is ex-husband number two and still my very best friend. I have known him for forty years now and every line in his face tells me of all the experiences, philosophic, emotional and otherwise, that he has gathered in his life of seventy-three years... a splendid soul who certainly has exemplified the saying that, "The unexamined life is not worth living"... cannot remember which philosopher is quoted...

Thanks to you three: Mike, Yuri and a.beyer. He is quite a character and I should know; he is my ex-husband #2 and still after all these years, my very best friend!! Greetings and all the Best to all of you, River

There is such a lot to see in the eyes River. Melancholy and maybe a certain amount of world weariness too. A fascinating photo, I have looked at it for a long time!

Warm wishes, Amelia

Thank you, dear Amelia and Suzi!! His is such a face indeed to spend some time with. Since I've known him for so long as a husband and a friend, I can read much of his life in every facial feature... of course it's more than anyone would need or want to know, but Amelia, you have guessed right about him and you, too, Suzi! Hello and all the Best to both of you, River

Thank you, Mircea and Alessandro, for your compliments on this portrait. Usually it is better not to take shots head-on, but for the purpose I intended this worked out best, I think. Thanks again for visiting my small gallery and Greetings to you Both! River
