Hi Don,
I think this is my first pic on panoramio, all those months ago! This was part of a project on old irish disused stations i did a few years ago! Parts are finally seeing the light of day under the "disused railway" tag in the gallery, The book's next! I love doing type of projects when i get the time!
Points of interest here if your a Beatles fan, The railway built a big tourist Hotel just behind the trees on the left out of shot (Achill & Mularanny area been beautiful spots!) It was here in 1967 that John Lennon stayed with Oko and debuted publically the song Revolution on a tape recorder to bemused locals in the bar on a Saturday night!
The Station has been closed longer then it was open! The whole site was recently up for sale, So who knows its future! Delighted you like it!
As always warmest regards from Ireland! h

Hi, 2c - as you know, I am very fond of your photos, including your RR photos. As such, I think it is great that people should be able to see them! I noticed on your recent post to the Trains and Railroads forum topic thread, your links showed up, but the image thumbnails did not.
The link attached here is a very useful link by Andre Speek that really helps to get the HTML codes right to show your thumbs.
Great photos!

Hi Bruce, Thanks! Delighted you lik'em, I think cos am working off a mac in a PC world might be one issue!!!! appreciate the link!!!! This was my first pic on pano, one year ago next week i think!
This was originally done for a book project on disused Irish railways, i more or less finished it, designed & wrote the draft, but life & work over the years have got in the way (least we froze some of them in time!). If your interested i send on the pdf draft, it puts the pictures in to context i suppose!!! projects like these are great because you can always revisit them, just drop your e-mail on the 'change position spot' incidentally if you read the posts above you'll find a minor beatles connection to this place!
Warmest regards from Dublin h
