When I am asked for a recommendation for a seafood restaurant in Virginia Beach, I always tell them to go to Dockside. The food alone merits my recommendation, but the location on on the east bank of the Lynnhaven River just south of where it empties into the Chesapeake Bay adds to the experience. There is a very nice indoor dining room, but if you go there, and you can come by boat as well as by land, eat outside to get the true Dockside experience. Besides the restaurant, Dockside also offers a Fishing Center operating from the piers at the left and a fresh Fish Market on the premises.
